Introduction

The Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business (BSB40320) is designed for individuals who want to establish, develop, and manage a small business or new business venture. This nationally recognised qualification provides the knowledge and skills required to research business opportunities, plan finances, implement marketing strategies, and manage legal, operational, and risk requirements.
 

Who Should Enrol

This qualification is suited to people who:

  • want to start or grow their own small business,
  • are looking to gain practical skills to support the management of a new venture,
  • work in a role that involves developing or implementing business plans, or
  • wish to pursue further study in business and management.

Units of Competency

Students must complete 10 units of competency, consisting of 4 core units and 6 elective units.

Core Units

  • BSBESB401 – Research and develop business plans
  • BSBESB402 – Establish legal and risk management requirements of new business ventures
  • BSBESB403 – Plan finances for new business ventures
  • BSBESB404 – Market new business ventures

Elective Units (delivered by our RTO)

  • BSBESB301 – Investigate business opportunities
  • BSBOPS404 – Implement customer service strategies
  • BSBMKG434 – Promote products and services
  • BSBESB406 – Establish operational strategies and procedures for new business ventures
  • BSBPEF301 – Organise personal work priorities
  • BSBESB407 – Manage finances for new business ventures

Course Delivery

This qualification is delivered through a flexible approach to suit different learner needs:
  • Face-to-face training in a classroom setting,
  • Blended delivery using virtual Zoom classrooms combined with in-person support, and/or
  • Online delivery with access to digital resources and trainer support.
All training includes a mixture of theory and practical components, supported by qualified trainers and individual learning assistance where required.

  • Develop and implement business plans.
  • Apply legal and risk management frameworks for small businesses.
  • Plan and manage business finances.

Certification

Students who successfully complete this course will be awarded the BSB40320 Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business, a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
