Gain hospitality skills in coffee making, and responsible service of alcohol. You will also learn  hygienic practices for food safety and how to work responsibly in gaming areas. A great starter course for anyone wanting to work in hospitality.

NCVE is a NSW Liquor and Gaming Approved Training Provider. You can visit the NSW Liquor and Gaming Licensee Training Tool for information on the licences you may need. 

This short course

provides a pathway to work in businesses such as restaurants, hotels, motels, resorts, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops and is a good foundation into a hospitality traineeship. (Suitable work attire must be worn to training and work placement.)

For students who successfully complete the short course and show suitable skills, traineeship positions are on offer. This short course is a real opportunity for you to gain employment.

When you successfully achieve this skill set you will receive a Statement of Attainment in SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality. The skill set includes the units listed below:


Use hygienic practices for food safety


Provide responsible service of alcohol


Prepare and serve espresso coffee


Provide Responsible Gambling Services

Accredited short courses, units, and skill sets are a great option if you’re a qualified professional who wants to diversify your professional portfolio and boost your resume. An accredited short course or skill set will earn you official credits for the units you complete. These unit credits may even be applied to a related qualification at a later date if you choose to study a full certificate or diploma. When you complete your accredited unit/s you will earn a Statement of Attainment.
