Our RCG course NSW gives you the skills and knowledge to work responsibly in gaming areas across New South Wales. Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) is the nationally recognised unit SITHGAM022, and it’s required for anyone working where gaming machines, TAB or keno are offered. Delivered in just one day, the course provides a Statement of Attainment and eligibility for your NSW RCG competency card. At just $225 — with Afterpay and ZipPay available — it’s the most convenient, affordable way to get qualified. Choose face-to-face training at one of our NSW locations, or study from home via our live virtual Zoom classroom.

This course delivers the following nationally recognised unit:
RCG is a live, trainer-led class in NSW — it cannot be completed as self-paced online learning. Here is what that day gives you.
Only an L&GNSW Approved Training Provider can issue the interim certificate you need for a NSW competency card. NCVE is one, RTO 90283. A course from a provider without that approval will not get you a card.
Pass and walk away with your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and interim certificate the same day.
Live, trainer-led sessions via Zoom, or in person at venues across NSW. Our classes move around the state — the list above shows every date and location currently scheduled.
RCG runs as a scheduled day with a named trainer who has worked on the gaming floor — by Zoom or in person. Already done your RSA online with us? Say so when you book.
SITHGAM022 is a nationally recognised unit — your Statement of Attainment is accepted across Australia (gaming rules differ by state).
Afterpay and ZipPay available, so you can get certified now and pay over time.
You’ll gain a thorough understanding of your responsibilities when working in gaming areas in NSW. The course covers:
By the end of this RCG course NSW, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to conduct gambling services responsibly in any licensed venue.
This course is for anyone working — or looking to work — in gaming areas of NSW venues: pubs, clubs and hotels with gaming machines (pokies), a TAB or keno. If your role involves operating gaming machines, paying out winnings, or supervising a gaming room, you need your RCG. Whether you’re starting in hospitality or upskilling for a current role, this course gets you qualified in a single day. Please bring your valid, current NSW photo ID on the first day of training.
Choose the format that suits you best. Our face-to-face classes run at venues across NSW — Wollongong, Nowra, Parramatta and regularly along the South Coast — delivered over one full day in the classroom. We move around the state, so check the class list above for the dates and locations currently scheduled. Our virtual classroom option is delivered live via Zoom over one full day, so you can complete your RCG from home. Both formats combine theory and practical learning led by experienced industry trainers, with individual learning support throughout the course.
A free Unique Student Identifier — required for any nationally recognised course. We can’t issue your certificate without it.
Current driver licence, NSW Photo Card, proof-of-age card or passport (not expired more than 3 months).
Your own email address — it becomes your login and can’t be shared with another student.
For the video part of assessment, where you respond to real-world gaming-floor scenarios. Part of the nationally required assessment.
Assessment is a mix of multiple-choice questions, short written answers, and a short video task so we can verify your skills — guided by a real trainer the whole way. Learners under 18 need parental consent.
When you finish and pass, you receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and an interim certificate that lets you work for 90 days while you get your photo competency card.
Finish your NCVE course and pass your assessment.
Issued the same day — valid to work for 90 days.
Take it plus 100 points of ID; they verify you and take your photo.
Digital card via the Service NSW app; plastic card in ~3–4 weeks.
On successful completion you’ll receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for SITHGAM022 — Provide Responsible Gambling Services, and eligibility for your NSW RCG competency card issued by Liquor & Gaming NSW. For full unit details, visit training.gov.au.

How much does the RCG cost in NSW?

Can I do my NSW RCG online?
Yes. We run live, trainer-led RCG sessions online via Zoom, as well as face-to-face at our locations. Both deliver the same nationally recognised SITHGAM022 outcome and eligibility for the NSW competency card.
How long does the course take?
It’s a one-day trainer-led course, delivered over one full day whether you choose virtual or face-to-face.
When do I get my certificate?

What’s the difference between RCG and RSA?
RCG (SITHGAM022) is required to work in gaming areas. RSA (SITHFAB021) is required to serve or sell alcohol. Many NSW venue roles need both — our combined course covers both over two days.
Do I need a USI?
Yes — everyone completing a nationally recognised course needs a free Unique Student Identifier. We can’t issue your Statement of Attainment until your USI is verified — get one here.
