Can an RTO qualify our experienced cleaners in our own workplaces?

divider

Yes. NCVE (RTO 90283) delivers the Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (CPP30321) to commercial cleaning contractors and facilities teams, with assessment done at the sites your crews already clean. Experienced cleaners move through it quickly, because most assessment is observation of the work they already do. Supervisors and team leaders can do the Certificate IV in Cleaning (Management) (CPP40421), assessed at the sites they already run. New starters can begin with a five-day cleaning skill set, run for employer groups on request. Every cleaner has a named trainer. Delivered Australia-wide.

Two ways we help cleaning contractors

They don’t need teaching. They need the paper.

Most of your crew can already do the job. The gap is evidence a client or tender panel will accept.

Qualify your experienced crew

A cleaner with years on hospitals, schools or offices already knows most of the course. They do the theory online around their shifts, and we assess them at your sites on normal shifts, using your chemicals, equipment and procedures. Because they already do the work, they move through quickly. You end up with a nationally recognised qualification behind work your crew was already doing.

How on-site assessment works

Train new starters

New cleaners can start with the Cleaning Skillset: five days face to face covering WHS, high-touch surfaces and cleaning rooms, furniture and fittings. They finish with a Statement of Attainment, and those units count toward the full Certificate III later. Or enrol them straight into CPP30321 and let them learn on the job.

On-site assessment

How is CPP30321 assessed in our workplaces?

Your cleaners already do the work. The course turns it into a qualification, with most of the assessment done where the work happens.

1

Theory online

Short online units with a named trainer, done around the roster, including nights. Experienced cleaners get through these quickly because they already know the work.

2

Workplace observation

The assessor observes each cleaner on a normal shift at your site: amenities, high-touch surfaces, floors, glass and infection control, done your way.

3

Competency conversation

A short structured interview covering the why behind the work: chemical safety, hazard reporting, dealing with clients.

4

Your records help

Site inductions, SDS and chemical training records and WHS sign-offs can be used as supporting evidence, so nobody has to prove twice what you already keep for clients.

Groups of 10 to 50. For a crew across several sites we schedule observations in blocks to match your shifts, including nights and weekends. Tell us the sites and we’ll plan it with your supervisors.

How it works

How does training work for a contract cleaning crew?

1

Tell us the crew and sites

How many cleaners, which sites, which shifts, and how long each person has been cleaning.

2

We set each person’s route

Experienced cleaners go straight into the qualification with on-site assessment. New starters get the skill set or the full qualification.

3

Assessed on site

Observations happen on normal shifts at your sites. Theory is online with a named trainer.

4

Certificates for the tender

Track each cleaner unit by unit in the NCVE Client Portal and download certificates for your next submission.

Cost & payment

How is training priced for a cleaning crew?

CPP30321 is fee-for-service. Employer pricing starts at our employment-services rate, and larger crews get volume pricing worked out case by case. Each cleaner is billed in two instalments, at enrolment and at week 13.

Pricing a tender? Tell us the crew size and timeline. We’ll give you a written price for the whole group before anyone enrols, so you can build it into your bid.

Why NCVE

Why do cleaning contractors choose NCVE?

Assessed on your sites

Your chemicals, your equipment, your client’s specification. The qualification reflects how your crew actually works.

🕐

Support when you need it

Night shifts and split shifts aren’t a problem. Study happens around the roster, with direct trainer access.

Client Portal

Can we show clients who on our crew is qualified?

Yes. Your operations manager gets a login to the NCVE Client Portal. It shows each cleaner’s enrolment status, units completed, assessment progress and completion status. You can enrol new staff, and download Statements of Attainment and certificates any time a client, auditor or tender panel asks.

Questions

Cleaning employer FAQ

Can our cleaners be assessed in our own workplaces?

Yes. That’s the main way we work with cleaning contractors. The theory is online with a named trainer, and the assessor observes each cleaner on a normal shift at your sites, using your chemicals, equipment and procedures.

Do you offer RPL?

It’s available on request. For most experienced cleaners it’s simpler and quicker to do the course: they already know much of the content, and most of the assessment is observation of the work they do every shift. Ask us and we’ll tell you which route suits each person.

Does the government cover any of the cost of the cleaning qualification?

No. NCVE delivers CPP30321 as fee-for-service only. Employer pricing starts at our employment-services rate, with volume pricing for larger crews. Each cleaner is billed in two instalments, one at enrolment and one at week 13, and we put the whole crew’s price in writing before anyone starts.

How long does it take to qualify an experienced cleaner?

Experienced cleaners usually finish well inside the 12-month enrolment, because they already know the work and most of the assessment happens on normal shifts. We won’t promise a finish date before we’ve met the crew, but we’ll give you a realistic plan per person.

Can you train a crew of 30 across several sites?

Yes. We schedule observations in blocks across your sites to match the shifts, including nights and weekends. The theory is online, so cleaners do it at their own pace. Your operations manager tracks the whole crew in the Client Portal.

Does a nationally recognised qualification help with tenders?

Many healthcare, aged care, education and government contracts ask for evidence of staff training. CPP30321 is a nationally recognised qualification on training.gov.au, so it’s a clear answer to that question. We can’t say how any panel will score it, but certificates are available from the portal when you need them.

Do you train cleaners outside NSW?

Yes. CPP30321 is delivered online Australia-wide, with workplace assessment at your sites wherever they are. The five-day face-to-face Cleaning Skillset runs in NSW. Interstate crews go through the same observation process at their own sites and appear in the same Client Portal as everyone else.

What do cleaners need to enrol?

A USI (Unique Student Identifier), photo ID and a short language, literacy and numeracy check. The check isn’t a pass or fail test. It shows the trainer what support each cleaner needs, so nobody gets left behind because English is their second language.
