NCVE (RTO 90283) trains staff for pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurants and hotels. Venues use us to license new starters with RSA (SITHFAB021) and RCG (SITHGAM022), and to qualify the team with the Certificate III in Hospitality (SIT30622). Licensing runs face to face, on Zoom or self-paced online. The qualification is studied online with a named trainer and assessed during real service. Approved by Liquor & Gaming NSW.
Most venues need both. Pick the one that’s urgent and we’ll sort the other when you’re ready.
You hire someone Tuesday and the next RSA class is a fortnight away. Our online RSA starts the hour you hire them, and RCG runs live on Zoom. Prefer the whole crew in one room? We run RSA, RCG and combined two-day classes face to face. NCVE is a Liquor & Gaming NSW approved training provider, so the interim certificate is issued the day they pass.
The Certificate III in Hospitality puts a nationally recognised qualification behind your floor staff, bar staff and baristas. RSA and RCG are built into it. In NSW new hires can do it as a fee-free traineeship. Long-serving staff do it fee-for-service at the employer rate, and we check what applies to each person before anyone commits.
Two full qualifications suit venues. Each links to its course page, where the student fees and full unit list are published.
The same day, if they start online the morning you hire them. Every option below leads to the nationally recognised unit, and the RSA and RCG options lead to an NSW competency card.
Names, roles and venues. Who needs a licence this week and who is ready for the full qualification.
We look at funding, traineeship eligibility and any RSA, RCG or food safety units they already hold, so nobody pays twice.
Theory online on their phone. Service periods during normal trading, signed off at your venue. A named trainer they can ring.
Track each person unit by unit in the NCVE Client Portal and download certificates when your licensee or auditor asks.
Yes, for new hires. The Certificate III in Hospitality (SIT30622) and Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20322) can both be done as NSW traineeships, fee-free for eligible new-entrant trainees whose training commences before 30 June 2027. A new-entrant trainee is generally someone you’ve employed for less than 3 months full-time, or less than 12 months part-time or casual, when the training contract starts. Venues that pay NSW payroll tax may be eligible for a rebate on trainee wages.
Staff who have been with you longer can’t start a funded traineeship, so for them it is fee-for-service at the employer rate. Hospitality qualifications are not on the Priority List, so the federal Priority Hiring Incentive doesn’t apply here.
Each staff member gets a named trainer who has worked in hospitality and picks up the phone. No helpdesk queue, and they mark the work themselves.
NCVE is a Liquor & Gaming NSW approved training provider, so the interim certificate holds up when an inspector asks.
Staff do their service periods with you. A new hire not on your roster yet? We line up a host venue so their training doesn’t stall.
Nights, weekends, split shifts. Study fits around trading hours, with direct trainer access when someone gets stuck.
We stay with every trainee until they finish, which matters when you’re trying to keep good staff through a busy season.
A family business that thinks in decades. We’d rather keep your venue for ten years than sell you one course.
Yes. Your venue manager gets a login to the NCVE Client Portal. It shows each person’s enrolment status, units completed, where every assessment is up to, and their completion status. You can enrol new starters yourself and download Statements of Attainment and certificates whenever your licensee, area manager or an auditor wants proof.

Yes, once they pass. NCVE is a Liquor & Gaming NSW approved provider, so they get an interim certificate on the day, which lets them work for 90 days while Service NSW issues the photo competency card. With RSA online they can start the hour you hire them and finish the same day.
Not as a funded traineeship. NSW traineeship funding is for new entrants: generally under 3 months full-time or 12 months part-time or casual with you. Longer-serving staff do it fee-for-service at the employer rate, or start with the licensing courses. We check each person’s situation first.
No. If they hold SITHFAB021, SITHGAM022 or food safety from any RTO, that’s a credit transfer into the Certificate III. Send us their statement of attainment and we’ll tell you what carries across, and whether it changes the price, before you pay for anything.
They’re assessed during normal trading. Staff work their usual shifts and the service periods are recorded and signed off at your venue, so nobody is rostered off for training. The theory sits online and they do it between shifts, with their trainer on the phone when needed.
Yes. We can put a group through RSA and RCG together on a set day, face to face or on Zoom, or let each person start online as they’re hired. For the Certificate III, groups start whenever suits you. There’s no intake date to wait for.
It depends on the mix of qualification and short courses. Employer pricing starts at our employment-services rate, and larger groups get volume pricing worked out case by case. The calculators on this page show your price as soon as you enter the team size and your details.
The Certificate III in Hospitality, yes: it’s delivered online Australia-wide and recognised nationally. RSA and RCG competency cards are NSW only, so interstate venues need their own state’s licensing. Smart & Skilled funding is also NSW only, so interstate staff are fee-for-service.
A USI (Unique Student Identifier), photo ID such as a driver licence or passport, and a short language, literacy and numeracy check. For RSA and RCG, the same ID is what their NSW competency card is issued against, so check it’s current before they start.
Not if the cards are all you need. The RSA and RCG short courses get someone legal behind the bar quickly. The Certificate III is for staff you want to keep and move up: it adds coffee, food safety, customer service and coaching others, with the cards built in.
Tell us how many and when you need them on the floor. No pitch. If there’s nothing worth doing, we’ll say so.
