Who trains warehouse and logistics staff to a national standard?

divider

NCVE (RTO 90283) trains warehouse, distribution and 3PL staff. Experienced pickers, storepersons and leading hands get the Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations (TLI30325), which covers receival and despatch, stock control, manual handling and Chain of Responsibility. New starters can do short face-to-face courses in RF scanning and warehousing first. The theory is online, assessment happens on your floor, and every learner has a named trainer. Delivered Australia-wide.

Two ways we help warehouses

Paper for your floor, or skills for new starters?

Your experienced crew needs a qualification. Your new starters need to be useful on the scanner by Monday. We do both.

Full qualification

The Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations covers 14 units, from receival and despatch paperwork to running a work team. Experienced staff can have their skills recognised, so they aren’t sitting through things they already do every shift. A nationally recognised qualification also gives you something solid to show a client during a tender or audit.

Short courses

RF Scanning runs over two days and Skills for Warehousing over four, both face to face on commercial equipment. They cover order picking with RF scanners, receival and despatch documentation and safe manual handling. Each ends in a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment, and the units count toward the full Certificate III later.

How it works

How does training fit around shift patterns?

1

Tell us who and where

Which sites, which shifts, and who’s new versus who has been on the floor for years.

2

We map existing skills

We look at what each person already does and any units they hold, and plan recognition where it fits.

3

Learn and get assessed on shift

Theory on a phone between shifts. Practical assessment on your floor, your scanners, your processes.

4

Pull the evidence

Track each person unit by unit in the NCVE Client Portal and download certificates for audits and tenders.

Cost & payment

How does pricing work for a warehouse team?

The Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations is fee-for-service. Employer pricing starts at our employment-services rate, and larger groups get volume pricing worked out case by case. Each person is billed in two instalments, at enrolment and at week 13, so the cost follows your intake instead of landing as one lump. Where RPL or credit transfer covers part of the qualification, we take it into account when we price that person.

No surprises. We give you a written price for the whole group before anyone enrols, and tell you straight if a short course would do the job better than the full qualification.

Why NCVE

Why do warehouse operators choose NCVE?

☎

A trainer on the mobile

Every learner has a named trainer who picks up the phone. Night-shift staff aren’t left waiting on a helpdesk.

📦

Assessed your way

Staff are assessed on your floor using your equipment and procedures, so the qualification matches the job.

🕐

Support when you need it

Rotating rosters, early starts, weekend peaks. Study fits around them, with direct trainer access when someone gets stuck.

🤝

No one left behind

We stay with every learner until they finish, including those with English as a second language.

📋

Evidence for clients

Certificates and unit records on demand, for client audits and tender submissions.

👥

Family-run, 25+ years

We’ve trained workers for more than 25 years. We’re after long relationships, not one-off sales.

Client Portal

Can I track every learner across multiple sites?

Yes. Your operations or HR lead gets a login to the NCVE Client Portal. It shows each person’s enrolment status, units completed, where each assessment is up to, and completion status, across every site. You can enrol new staff yourself and download Statements of Attainment and certificates when a client or auditor asks for proof.

Questions

Logistics employer FAQ

Does the government cover any of the cost of the Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations?

No. NCVE delivers TLI30325 as fee-for-service only. Employer pricing starts at our employment-services rate, with volume pricing for larger groups, and each person is billed in two instalments: at enrolment and at week 13. The calculator on this page shows your price.

Can experienced warehouse staff get RPL?

Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning and credit transfer both apply to TLI30325. A storeperson with years on receival and despatch can be assessed against those units on your floor rather than retrained. Raise it before enrolment so the trainer can plan the evidence with you and we can factor it into the quote.

How are staff assessed without stopping the line?

Assessment is workplace-based and done during normal work. The trainer gathers evidence of staff picking, receiving, despatching and following your safety procedures as they do the job. Theory is online, done between shifts. Nobody needs a classroom day off the floor.

Does the Certificate III include a forklift licence?

No. TLI30325 covers receival, despatch, stock control, manual handling, Chain of Responsibility and running a team. It does not include a high risk work licence for forklift operation. That’s a separate licence issued by your state’s WHS regulator. If your operators need one, book it with a licensed high risk work assessor alongside the Certificate III.

Can we see each person’s progress?

Yes. Your nominated manager gets a Client Portal login showing enrolment status, units completed, assessment progress and completion status for every learner. Certificates can be downloaded whenever you need them for a client audit or tender. You can also enrol new starters from the same login, so there are no forms to email back and forth.

What does it cost to train 20 warehouse staff?

It depends on the mix of full qualifications and short courses, and how much prior learning is recognised. Employer pricing starts at our employment-services rate, and a group of 20 gets volume pricing worked out case by case. Enter the numbers in the calculator above for your price.

Do you train logistics staff outside NSW?

Yes. The Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations is delivered online Australia-wide with assessment in your workplace, so interstate DCs and depots can be trained the same way as NSW sites. Face-to-face short courses run in NSW. Interstate learners are quoted at the same employer rate as NSW learners.

What do staff need to enrol?

A USI (Unique Student Identifier), photo ID such as a driver licence or passport, and a short language, literacy and numeracy check. The check isn’t pass or fail. It tells the trainer what support each person needs, which matters on multilingual warehouse teams.
