Our RSA and RCG course NSW gives you everything you need to work in licensed venues across New South Wales. Delivered over two days, this nationally recognised course covers both Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling — giving you two Statements of Attainment and eligibility for both NSW competency cards. At just $330 — with Afterpay and ZipPay available — it’s the best-value way to get fully qualified for hospitality and gaming. Choose face-to-face training at one of our NSW locations, or study from home via our live virtual Zoom classroom.

This course delivers the following nationally recognised units:
Both units over two trainer-led days. If you would rather do the RSA half in your own time, our self-paced online RSA is $145 — RCG still needs a live class either way.
Only an L&GNSW Approved Training Provider can issue the interim certificates you need for your NSW competency cards. NCVE is one, RTO 90283. A course from a provider without that approval will not get you a card.
Get both certificates together for less than booking them separately — the full set most NSW venue roles need.
Walk away with your nationally recognised Statements of Attainment and interim certificates as you complete each unit.
Live, trainer-led sessions via Zoom, or in person at venues across NSW. Our classes move around the state — the list above shows every date and location currently scheduled.
A trainer who has worked behind the bar and on the gaming floor guides you through both days, by Zoom or in person.
SITHFAB021 and SITHGAM022 are nationally recognised units delivered by an RTO with 25+ years’ standing.
Over two days you’ll cover both sides of responsible venue service in NSW.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA):
Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG):
By the end you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to work responsibly across both the bar and the gaming floor.
This combined course is ideal for anyone working — or looking to work — in NSW pubs, clubs and hotels that serve both alcohol and gaming. If your venue has a bar and pokies, a TAB or gaming machines, you’ll need both tickets, and doing them together is the fastest, best-value way to get job-ready. Whether you’re starting a new hospitality career or upskilling for a current role, you’ll be fully qualified in two days. Please bring your valid, current NSW photo ID on the first day of training.
Choose the format that suits you best. Our face-to-face classes run at venues across NSW — Wollongong, Nowra, Parramatta and regularly along the South Coast — delivered over two full days in the classroom. We move around the state, so check the class list above for the dates and locations currently scheduled. Our virtual classroom option is delivered live via Zoom over two full days, so you can complete both certificates from home. Both formats combine theory and practical learning led by experienced industry trainers, with individual learning support throughout the course.
A free Unique Student Identifier — required for any nationally recognised course. We can’t issue your certificates without it.
Current driver licence, NSW Photo Card, proof-of-age card or passport (not expired more than 3 months).
Your own email address — it becomes your login and can’t be shared with another student.
For the video part of assessment, where you respond to real-world service scenarios. Part of the nationally required assessment.
Assessment is a mix of multiple-choice questions, short written answers, and short video tasks across both units — guided by a real trainer the whole way. Learners under 18 need parental consent.
When you finish and pass, you receive two nationally recognised Statements of Attainment and interim certificates that let you work for 90 days while you obtain your two photo competency cards.
Finish both units over the two days and pass your assessments.
Issued the same day — valid to work for 90 days.
Take them plus 100 points of ID; they verify you and take your photo.
Digital cards via the Service NSW app; plastic cards in ~3–4 weeks.
On successful completion you’ll receive two nationally recognised Statements of Attainment — for SITHFAB021 — Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol and SITHGAM022 — Provide Responsible Gambling Services — plus eligibility for both NSW competency cards issued by Liquor & Gaming NSW. For full unit details, visit training.gov.au.
Prefer to do just one? See our RSA Course or RCG Course. For a full qualification, explore our Certificate III in Hospitality.
What units will I study?
Two nationally recognised units: SITHFAB021 — Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA), and SITHGAM022 — Provide responsible gambling services (RCG).
How much does the RSA and RCG course cost in NSW?
NCVE’s combined RSA & RCG is $330, which includes both NSW competency card fees paid to Liquor & Gaming NSW on your behalf. That’s cheaper than booking the two separately. Afterpay and ZipPay are available.
Why do RSA and RCG together?
Most NSW pubs and clubs serve both alcohol and gaming, so staff need both tickets. Doing them together over two days is faster and better value than booking each on its own.
How long does the combined course take?
Two days — one day of RSA and one day of RCG, whether you choose virtual or face-to-face.
Can I do it online?
Yes. We run live, trainer-led sessions via Zoom, as well as face-to-face at our locations. Both deliver the same nationally recognised SITHFAB021 and SITHGAM022 outcomes and eligibility for the NSW competency cards.
When do I get my certificates?
You receive your nationally recognised Statements of Attainment and interim certificates as you complete each unit. The interim certificates let you work for 90 days while you obtain your photo competency cards.
How do I get my NSW competency cards?
Take your interim certificates and 100 points of ID to a Service NSW centre, where your identity is checked and your photo taken. Digital cards are available via the Service NSW app, and your plastic cards arrive in about 3–4 weeks.
What’s the difference between RSA and RCG?
RSA (SITHFAB021) is required to serve or sell alcohol. RCG (SITHGAM022) is required to work in gaming areas. Many NSW venue roles need both — which is why the combined course is the best value.
Are they valid in other states?
Both units are nationally recognised. RSA is generally accepted across most states (Victoria needs a short bridging course); RCG requirements are NSW-specific, so check with the destination state’s regulator if you move.
Do I need a USI?
Yes — everyone completing nationally recognised courses needs a free Unique Student Identifier. We can’t issue your Statements of Attainment until your USI is verified — get one here.
