Can I start today?
Yes. This is a rolling-start course, so there are no intake dates and no waiting for a term to begin — you enrol and you start. Most students finish in about six weeks, but it’s self-paced, so you set the speed around work.
I’ve just been given a team and I’ve had no training. Is this the right course?
That’s exactly who it’s for. Most people are promoted because they were good at the job, then left to work out the leading part alone. The three units cover demonstrating leadership, leading and facilitating a team, and using inclusive work practices — the practical end of it, in about six weeks, while you’re already doing the job.
Should I do this or the full Certificate IV in Leadership and Management?
Start here if you want something useful in six weeks for $370, or if you’re not yet sure management is for you. Go straight to the Certificate IV if you know you want the full qualification — it’s 12 units and it’s on the Smart & Skilled Targeted Priorities list, so eligible NSW students pay $1,580, or $240 with a concession, rather than $1,970. Two of the three units here credit toward it either way, so starting small doesn’t cost you anything.
Do I get a real trainer, or a chatbot?
A named trainer with management experience, even on a short course. You can phone them or book a one-to-one video session — useful when the thing you actually want to ask about is a situation with someone on your team. No helpdesk queue, and no AI marking your assessments.
Do I need to be a manager already?
No — it’s ideal for aspiring and new leaders. No prior qualifications or management experience needed.
Does it count toward a full qualification?
Partly — and we’d rather be straight about it. Two of the three units credit toward the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (BSB40520); the third doesn’t. Because that qualification is priced per unit, those two still reduce what you’d pay for the full course later.
